Trim Levels (Exterior)
With eight exciting trim levels to choose from, there's a 2023 4Runner for everyone. The SR5 announces its arrival with LED headlights and fog lights and also features LED taillights, a power rear liftgate window, and Toyota's Smart Key system. On the TRD Sport, you'll find the signature TRD hood scoop, black roof rails, and TRD Sport badging. The SR5 Premium adds heated power mirrors with turn signal indicators, while the TRD Off-Road gets 17-inch seven-spoke wheels and TRD Off-Road badges. With the TRD Off-Road Premium, you can take advantage of heated mirrors, while the 40th Anniversary Special Edition offers 17-inch bronze-colored alloy wheels, a heritage grille with "TOYOTA" lettering, and 40th Anniversary badging. If you enjoy the wind in your hair, you'll love the Limited and its power tilt/slide moonroof featuring a sunshade. Last but not least is the TRD Pro, featuring 17-inch matte-black flow-form TRD alloy wheels, a TRD-stamped aluminum front skid plate, and a TRD roof rack.
Engine (Power)
No matter what 4Runner model you choose, you'll enjoy powerful performance each time you slide behind the wheel. Every trim level comes equipped with a 4.0-liter V-6 engine capable of producing 270 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque. With that much power, you can use your 4Runner to tow 5,000 pounds.
Performance
The 4Runner's robust engine pairs with equally impressive performance dynamics to deliver a superior driving experience. An agile 4x2 system comes standard, or you can equip your 4Runner with part-time 4WD or full-time 4WD capabilities. The TRD Pro adds oversize TRD-tuned FOX high-performance shocks, while the TRD Off-Road lets you take advantage of crawl control and multi-terrain modes.
Interior
The 2023 4Runner seats five, with select models allowing you to upgrade to a seven-seater cabin. Both configurations feature premium seating surfaces, stylish accents, and a total cargo space measuring 88.8 cubic feet. Available amenities include leather-trimmed front seats with heating and ventilation, three USB ports, and dual-zone automatic climate control. With the 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, you can stream music, get traffic updates, and send texts.
Safety Features
While the 2023 Toyota 4Runner is fun to drive, it's also serious about safety. The 4Runner has a pre-collision system that can detect pedestrians and vehicles as they enter your path and apply the brakes when necessary. With dynamic radar cruise control, you can select your preferred cruising speed and the system will adjust according to changes in traffic. If your 4Runner starts to drift, the lane departure alert will help steer it back into place. Other features include automatic high beams, a blind-spot monitor, and a rear cross-traffic alert system.
