2023 Nissan LEAF

The Nissan LEAF is an all-electric hatchback. Its small size makes it easy to maneuver through traffic and in parking lots, and the cabin comes nicely equipped with popular features. For the 2023 model year, the LEAF received some updated styling, including a revised grille and redesigned front bumper. It also has new exterior lighting and new multi-spoke wheels. Here's a look at some features you'll get with the 2023 Nissan LEAF.

Trim Levels (Exterior)

The 2023 LEAF comes in two trim levels. The base S starts buyers off with 16-inch steel wheels, automatic headlights, an illuminated and locking charge port, and an aerodynamic rear spoiler. It also has aerodynamically designed power-adjustable side exterior mirrors and UV-reducing solar glass. The SV Plus switches out the 16-inch steel wheels for 17-inch alloy wheels and adds LED headlights, foglights, heated side exterior mirrors, and daytime running lights.

Engine (Power)

Power for the LEAF S comes from an electric motor with a 40-kWh battery pack that generates 147 horsepower. The SV Plus has a stronger motor, and it upgrades to a 62-kWh battery for added range. The SV Plus produces 214 horsepower.

Performance

The LEAF S, with its smaller battery, will get up to a 149-mile range. This is perfect for urban drivers who don't need to go far. The SV Plus, with its larger battery, has a 215-mile range. The LEAF has the innovative e-Pedal feature, which will allow the LEAF to decelerate as soon as the driver removes their foot from the pedal. Since the electric motor slows the vehicle, this feature makes driving in stop-and-go traffic much easier.

Interior

There's room for up to five in this Nissan and the cabin has a spacious feel. It comes with cloth upholstery, automatic climate control, a height-adjustable driver's seat, and 60/40 split-folding rear seats. It also has power door locks, a one-touch up-and-down driver's side window, and a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel. The SV Plus adds a power-adjustable driver's seat, heated front seats, and a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel.

The technology features in the LEAF start with an offered 8-inch touch screen for the infotainment system, a four-speaker stereo, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, satellite radio, and Siri Eyes Free. A hands-free text messaging assistant is also standard, along with three USB ports and a USB-C sharing port. The SV Plus adds navigation, NissanConnect Services, and a six-speaker stereo.

Safety Features

Both LEAF models have a comprehensive list of standard driver aids. They come standard with forward collision warning with automatic braking, rear automatic braking, a blind-spot monitor, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and a blind-spot intervention system that will steer the car back into its lane if the driver tries to change lanes when someone is in their blind spot.

The SV Plus adds a 360-degree surround-view camera system, driver attention warning, and adaptive cruise control. It also comes with Nissan's ProPilot Assist system.
