2023 Nissan Altima
The Nissan Altima is a sleek-looking family sedan with a spacious cabin and your choice of powertrains. For the 2023 model year, the Altima gains new wheels, a fresh design for the front fascia with LED headlights, and a new Nissan logo. Nissan offers the 2023 Altima with two extra paint colors, and it has an updated infotainment touchscreen for the higher trims. It also arrived with some added safety features. Trim Levels (Exterior)
The entry-level Altima S has 16-inch steel wheels, LED headlights, and power-adjustable side mirrors. A step up to the SV adds 17-inch wheels and keyless entry, while the SR has 19-inch wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, and a dark chrome V-Motion grille surround. The SR VC-Turbo has larger brakes and splash guards. Bumping up to the SL gets you a moonroof and outside mirrors with LED turn signal lights.
Engine (Power)
The base powertrain for the 2023 Altima is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gas engine that puts out 188 horsepower. It works with a continuously variable automatic transmission and comes with front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is optional for any trim level. Want more power? Go for the stronger 2.0-liter turbo engine offering 248 horsepower.
Performance
Either of the engines has plenty of power to propel the Altima around town and get it up to highway speed with little effort, but the SR's turbo engine gets you the extra push you need for a more spirited ride. The available Active Ride Control helps make the smooth ride even smoother.
Interior
Inside, the Altima has room for five people. The front seats are extremely comfortable, and the cabin has an upscale feel. Cloth upholstery and a manually adjustable driver's seat come standard on the base trim, while there is also available leather upholstery, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The sporty SR adds some special styling elements in the cabin, and it comes with paddle shifters. The technology in the Altima starts with a USB port, a 5-inch display, and a six-speaker stereo. The SV adds an 8-inch touch screen, satellite radio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a USB-C port in the front. Adding the optional Premium Package gets you the new 12.3-inch touch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay, and a wireless smartphone charging pad, and the higher-end SL makes these optional features standard. It also adds navigation and NissanConnect connected services.
Safety Features
Every 2023 Altima comes with a full suite of driver aids. These include automatic high beam headlights, forward collision warning with automatic braking, lane-departure warning, and a driver attention warning system. It also comes with a rear seat reminder, a blind-spot monitor, and rear cross-traffic alert. The SV Premium Package adds the ProPilot Assist system with adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist, and these safety features come standard with the SL. This top-level trim also adds a 360-degree surround-view parking camera and a traffic sign recognition system.
