Trim Levels (Exterior)

The 2023 Sportage offers seven trim levels with a range of styling elements. The base LX offers 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights and taillights, rear privacy glass, and power exterior mirrors. The EX upgrades you to 18-inch alloy wheels plus heated exterior mirrors. At the X-Line AWD level, you get 19-inch gloss-black alloy wheels plus added ground clearance with X-Line special gloss-black exterior styling elements.

At the SX level, you get 18-inch matte gray wheels, satin chrome and gloss-black exterior trim, low-profile roof sails, a panoramic sunroof, and a hands-free liftgate. The SX Prestige kicks it upscale with 19-inch gloss-black wheels, upgraded LED head- and taillights, and LED fog lights. The X-Pro offers 17-inch matte black wheels plus all-terrain tires and LED fog lights. Finally, the X-Pro Prestige combines everything from the X-Pro and SX Prestige.

Engine (Power)

All Kia Sportage models are driven by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that puts out 187 horsepower and generates 178 pound-feet of torque. All models feature an eight-speed automatic powertrain. Most are front-wheel drive, with all-wheel drive available as an option, though the X-Line AWD, X-Pro, and X-Pro Prestige offer AWD as standard.

Performance

The new Sportage will appeal to fans of the vehicle. It still offers solid, athletic handling and reliable cornering. It's comfortable to steer and drive, and offers solid braking. The new X-Pro trim offers a more off-road-oriented experience, allowing you to do some trailblazing or tackle trickier road conditions.

Interior

Kia has really leveled up with their interior design. The touchscreen interface is modern and combines icons with physical buttons for ease of use. You'll have great visibility, and the seats are quite comfortable at any trim level. Passenger space is plentiful throughout the interior.

Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are both standard offerings, and you'll enjoy plenty of USB-A and USB-C ports throughout for device charging. Some trim levels offer wireless device charging, and the infotainment system and instrument cluster have an available gigantic 12.3-inch display. Onboard GPS navigation is available as well, and the premium sound system offers superior audio.

Safety Features

Standard safety features include driver attention warning, frontal crash mitigation and warning, lane departure warning and mitigation, lane centering features, and parking sensors. At higher levels, you can get features like blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alerts, safe exit assistance, adaptive cruise control, and Highway Driving Assist, which can act like an extra co-pilot on the road.
