Trim Levels (Exterior)
Ford offers the 2023 Expedition in six basic trims, the XL STX, XLT, Timberline, Limited, King Ranch, and Platinum. All but the Timberline can come in the MAX version, adding 12 inches to the body length and more cargo space. This modern-looking SUV has a distinct front grille with LED headlights stacked above fog lights integrated into the fascia. If you want a mysterious looking Expedition, choose the Stealth Performance Edition package that gives you 22-inch black-painted aluminum wheels, black exterior accents, and striking red brake calipers.
Engine (Power)
Under the hood of the Expedition, you'll find a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine offering 400 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. With the Stealth Performance Edition, your 2023 Ford Expedition gets equipped with a 3.5-liter EcoBoost High-Output engine, as well as a dual exhaust system. A 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission completes the 2023 Expedition's powertrain.
Performance
Depending on how you plan on driving your Ford Expedition, you can choose the standard rear-wheel drive or opt for a 4x4 model. When the available Control Trac 4WD System gets activated, the system locks the rear axle to help navigate over tricky terrain. This system comes standard on the Timberline trim. For off-road fun, choose the Timberline with its off-road-tuned suspension, heavy-duty radiator, protective skid plate, and 10.6-inches of clearance. Other Expedition trims offer a multi-link independent rear suspension system, front and rear stabilizer bars, and AdvanceTrac roll stability control for superb handling. With the addition of the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package, the 2023 Expedition can tow up to 9,300 pounds.
Interior
The Expedition carries up to eight people on three rows of seats. As you move up the trim levels, you'll get luxury features such as leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, power folding second-row captain's chairs, and wood and leather trim. Choose the upscale Limited trim to get a mahogany-colored leather interior, or get dual-tone Del Rio leather on the King Ranch model. Flexible seating configurations give the Expedition up to 104.6 cubic feet of storage space. The MAX versions can provide up to 121.5-inches of cargo space. Technology features include Ford's SYNC 4 infotainment system with a 12-inch or optional 15.5-inch touch screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Depending on the trim, you can also get onboard navigation, a 22-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, and Wi-Fi for up to 10 devices.
Safety Features
Safety is paramount for the Ford brand, and the 2023 Expedition comes equipped with Ford Co-Pilot360 driver assist technology. Key features include a forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and lane keep assist. Additional features include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and reverse brake assist.
